This red wine grape from Bordeaux is a natural cross between Cabernet Franc & Sauvignon Blanc, and is often found in blends. Almost every wine producing country in the world now grows a version, as it is hardy & easy to cultivate. Different climates produce variations in the blackcurrant-studded profile - cooler climates produce added menthol notes, moderate climates add notes of black cherry & olive, and in hot climates the blackcurrant notes become overripe & jammy.
