This robust red wine variety has parented, or is related to, many other grape varieties. It can be grown in different climates, and often produces varied profiles. The best known wines using this grape are made in Bordeaux, where it is often combined with Merlot in highly collectible ‘Bordeaux blends’. Lighter than Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc can have classic notes of raspberry, tobacco, bell pepper & violet.
